New Honda Activa 6G Smart variant details leaked ahead of launch
The recently leaked RTO document gave away a few details about the upcoming new Honda Activa 6G Smart variant. Going by an Instagram post of the brand, this new variant of India's highest-selling scooter is likely to be launched on 23 January, 2023.
New Activa 6G Smart variant: Anti-theft system
While the Activa 6G is currently available in a choice of two variants, namely Standard and Deluxe, as seen in the leaked document, it will soon be offered in a new Activa 6G Smart variant. Rumour has it that this Smart variant will bring new anti-theft technology to the Activa 6G.
Honda had already filed an application to patent the H-Smart anti-theft system in late 2022, which appears to be similar to its Honda Ignition Security System (HISS). Apart from the speculated anti-theft system, the upcoming Smart variant could come with several new features.
New Activa 6G Smart variant: Powertrain and Weight
If the leaked document is to go by, the new Activa 6G Smart also gets a tweaked engine alongside the anti-theft technology. It produces more power than the Standard and Deluxe variants âÂ" 7.84PS compared to 7.79PS. Further, the upcoming Activa 6G Smart has a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 279kg, which is lesser than 1kg than the 280 GVW of the on-sale model.
New Active 6G Smart variant: Price
The Activa 6G Standard and Deluxe cost Rs 74,478 and Rs 76,978 (ex-showroom, Mumbai), respectively. However, the scooter's new variant is expected to attract a higher premium due to the additional features.
