New Hyundai Alcazar facelift spy pictures reveal fresh details
Hyundai's seven-seat Alcazar has received several minor updates over the years. But the new spy pictures reveal that the Mahindra XUV700 rival will get the most significant update since its launch. The brand recently launched the updated versions of the Creta, i20, and i20 N Line. In fact, the Creta facelift garnered over one lakh reservations within three months of its bookings commencement in January this year.
Hyundai Alcazar facelift: DesignComing back to the Alcazar, the test mule of the three-row SUV spotted testing in India and was completely camouflaged. Yet this prototype offered glimpses of its redesigned bodywork. As seen in the image, the Alcazar facelift is expected feature a new and upright front end, including a larger grille, the new Santa Fe and Exter-inspired H-shaped daytime driving lights (a full length light bar could also be on the cards), reworked front bumper, and Creta-style vertically stacked LED headlamps.
Not only that, it was fitted with newly designed dual-tone alloy wheels. However, the design of the side profile is likely to be carried over. While the rear end of the test mule was fully covered, it should also get a new bumper and redesigned taillamps.
Hyundai Alcazar facelift: InteriorOn the inside, the Creta-based Alcazar facelift could feature a revamped dashboard, centre console, and new upholstery. Hyundai might update its current features, such as 10.25-inch infotainment system, new telematics and Bluelink connected car tech, fast charging USB Type-C ports, eight-speaker Bose sound system with a sub-woofer, and more.
Hyundai Alcazar facelift: FeaturesThe upcoming Alcazar facelift could borrow additional features from the Creta facelift, such as 360deg camera, ventilated front seats, eight-way electronically adjustable driver's seat, Level 2 autonomy, wireless charging pad, Alexa support, ambient lighting, dual-zone temperature control, traction control, ESP, hill hold control, six airbags, cooled glove box, rear reclining seats, TPMS, and a new 10.25-inch all-digital instrument cluster, among others.
Hyundai Alcazar facelift: Engine specifications
The Alcazar Hyundai was one of the first cars in the Hyundai and Kia line-up to get the new 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that makes 160PS and 253Nm of torque. And we expect the refreshed version to continue with it. Additionally, it should also retain the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel motor producing 116PS and 250Nm of torque. Transmission options to include a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Hyundai Alcazar facelift: Launch timeline & pricingWe expect the Alcazar facelift to command a higher premium over the on-sale model. While the current Alcazar costs Rs 16.77-21.28 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated version could start from Rs 16.90-17.20 lakh and go up to 21.80-22 lakh. Upon launch, it will take on the Mahindra XUV700, Kia Carens, Toyota Innova Crysta, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari facelift.
