New Hyundai Exter variants, colours, and powertrain explained
Hyundai is readying the all-new Exter for the India launch soon. The carmaker has already started bookings for the SUV for Rs 11,000 across the country. Now, the colour, variant, and powertrain details have also been revealed ahead of the launch. Here is what you should expect from the Hyundai's Tata Punch and Citroen C3 rival.
Hyundai Exter: Variants
The upcoming Exter SUV will be available in seven primary variants, starting from EX, EX (O), S, S (O), SX, SX (O), and SX (O) Connect. Hyundai will also offer it with a CNG version and that will be available in a choice of two variants: S and SX.
Hyundai Exter: Colours
In terms of colour schemes, the Exter will be offered in six single-tone shades namely, Cosmic Blue, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Starry Night, Ranger Khaki, and Titan Grey. Customers will also be able to choose from three dual-tone paint jobs: Cosmic Blue with Abyss Black, Ranger Khaki with Abyss Black, and Atlas Black with Abyss Black.
Hyundai Exter: Features
Hyundai is likely to equip the Exter with a bunch of features, such as cruise control, USB Type-C charging ports, TPMS, cooled glove box, a sizable touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ESC, VSM, HAC, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with sensors, wireless phone charging, powered ORVMs with auto-fold, and auto headlamps, among others. It is also believed to come with an electric sunroof.
Hyundai Exter: Engine and transmission
Powering the Exter will be a 1.2-litre, inline four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. We expect this unit to produce 83PS and 114Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Exter CNG could deliver of 69PS and 95Nm of torque. A 1.2-litre petrol motor will be mated to a five-speed manual and an AMT transmission, while the CNG version will be only paired with a five-speed manual gearbox.
Hyundai Exter: Prices and Rivals
We believe the prices of the Hyundai Exter to start from around Rs 6 lakh and go up to 10 lakh. Upon launch, the Exter will compete against the Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
