New Kia Carnival launched in India at Rs 63.90 lakh
Kia India has officially announced that the Carnival is now back in India in its latest generation and is priced at Rs 63.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This latest MPV is only being offered as a 7-seater and comes in a single fully outfitted Limousine variant. Additionally, Kia said that 2,796 pre-launch reservations for the Carnival had been made.
The new Carnival features an upmarket design and SUV-ish body style. Its overall design matches that of the newer Kia models. There are new and big L-shaped daytime driving lights, a large grille, a full-length light bar at the back, and vertically stacked headlights. Also on offer are new 18-inch alloy wheels.
There are two exterior colour possibilities for the Carnival for India: Fusion Black and Glacier White Pearl. There are also two interior dual-tone theme options: Navy and Misty Gray and Tuscan and Umber. The second-row captain chairs in the cabin provide leg support adjustments and warmth and ventilation. The seating arrangement is 2+2+3.
New Kia Carnival: Powertrain
The new Kia Carnival is powered by the same 2.2-litre diesel engine that is matched to an eight-speed automated transmission. This engine is calibrated to deliver power to the front wheels while producing 197PS and 440Nm of peak torque.
New Kia Carnival: Interior & Features
The Carnival is equipped with an abundance of features such as a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, three zones of climate control, dual sunroof, powered front and rear seats with ventilation and a wireless phone charger are some of the highlights. The second row is the place to be seated as you get captain chairs with ventilation, heating and even extendable leg support as well as powered sliding doors.
Eight airbags, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera and parking sensors, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, and Level-2 ADAS all contribute to passenger safety. Along with the new Carnival, Kia is also providing three years of free roadside assistance, maintenance, and warranty.
The previous gen Carnival competed with the Toyota Innova Hycross but considering the price of the latest generation car, it can be considered as a more affordable version of the Hycross's much older sibling, the Vellfire which is priced at Rs 1.22 crore (ex-showroom).
