New Lamborghini Urus SE launched at Rs 4.57 crore
Lamborghini has introduced the Urus SE, a new plug-in hybrid SUV, in India with a starting price of Rs 4.57 crore (ex-showroom). Deliveries are expected to begin early next year. The Urus SE joins the Urus S and Performante, which are already available in the country.
The new hybrid Urus is more aerodynamic than the non-hybrid version, with a 15 per cent improvement in efficiency because of a revised front end and an optimised underbody that enhances airflow. The exterior design includes updates such as a revised clamshell hood, new matrix LED headlights, and redesigned front and rear fascias. Then, the rear features a new spoiler, diffuser, and vents to improve downforce and cooling. The Urus SE also offers new wheel designs in 21, 22, and 23-inch sizes, fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres. Inside, the SUV features a larger 12.3-inch centre screen and a new telemetry system to track energy usage.
Lamborghini Urus SE: Powertrain & specifications
The Urus SE is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 620PS and 800Nm of torque, paired with an electric motor that adds 192PS and 483Nm of torque. The plug-in hybrid system includes a 25.9kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The combined output of the system is 800PS and 950Nm of torque, making the SE the most powerful version of the Urus. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds and reach 200 kmph in 11.4 seconds, with a top speed of 312kmph.
The Urus SE offers a 60 km electric-only range and can reach speeds of up to 130kmph in EV mode before the combustion engine kicks in. Also, the SUV features a new centrally positioned longitudinal electric torque vectoring system with an electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch that continuously distributes torque between the front and rear axles. The transfer case works with a new electronic limited-slip differential on the rear axle to provide on-demand over-steering, enhancing the driving experience.
Its air suspension adjusts ground clearance depending on the driving mode, with a range of 15 mm to 75 mm. The SE offers four hybrid powertrain modes âÂ" EV Drive, Hybrid, Performance, and Recharge âÂ" in addition to the six driving modes available in the standard Urus.
