New Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift vs old S-Cross in images
The launch of the facelifted Maruti Suzuki S-Cross in India is just around the corner, and we've just driven the car in Udaipur. Bookings for the car have already begun, and with this update, Maruti hopes to finally bring sales numbers of the S-Cross to a respectable amount. While we have a detailed image gallery of the new car, here's a gallery which shows what exactly has changed from the outgoing Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.
The S-Cross has been given a mid-life makeover and the focus was to make the crossover appear more aggressive and sportier than the model it replaces
The majority of the S-Cross' mid-life makeover is seen on the fascia, which has been given revised headlights, grille and bumpers. The headlights get a more detailed design which makes them appear sleeker than the outgoing design. It also sports a new, chunkier design for its daytime running lamps
The cascading waterfall inspiration for the face seen on the outgoing S-Cross gave it a low slung appearance. The new one goes for a nose-up stance instead to appear more SUV than crossover and the grille with its vertical slats contributes to that effect
The side profile remains largely unchanged, save for the new design for the alloy wheels. These are now shod with wider, 215-section tyres, compared to the 205s on the outgoing car
The signature colour sees a change too, as the brown now makes way for a dark blue. The latter looks a tad bit more sophisticated and highlights the chrome and satin accents quite well
The revisions on the tail take an eagle eye to be noticed. The taillights have a new detailing that adds a C-motif to the outer ends of the taillights
The ground clearance of the S-Cross has increased marginally owing to the new tyres
Notice the new sculpting on the bonnet. Maruti Suzuki there is no significant change in the aerodynamics despite the slightly more upright nose
The instrumentation remains largely unchanged save for the SHVS Hybrid badging, which points towards the technology under the hood
Thanks to lack of demand, the 1.6-litre Diesel engine has been done away with. The S-Cross continues to get the 1.3-litre 90PS/200Nm diesel, which now comes with the mild-hybrid technology common to most premium Maruti Suzuki offerings
