New Skoda Kodiaq exterior pictures revealed ahead of 4 Oct debut
About a month ago, Skoda revealed the interior of the upcoming new-gen Kodiaq, alongside the new-gen Superb. Now, the Czechia automaker has offered a glimpse of the exterior of the SUV in the form of its design sketches. Notably, the global debut of the all-new Kodiaq will take place on 4 October, 2023 at 18.45 CEST.
The all-new Kodiaq features a familiar but a sportier and more muscular design language that gives it an imposing stance. The fresh fascia gets new headlights (second-gen Top LED Matrix lights) sharp L-shape daytime driving lights, a new bonnet with cuts and creases, a slightly larger butterfly grille, and a new front bumper. Additionally, there are prominent and arrow-straight shoulder lines, starting from the headlights and going all the way to the read end. Speaking of which, there are new angular C-shaped taillights integrated with a full-length light bar, a new rear bumper, and "Skoda" lettering. The new wheel sizes range between 17- and 20-inches.
2024 Skoda Kodiaq: Interior
As mentioned earlier, Skoda has already revealed the interior of the all-new Kodiaq, featuring a modern, minimalist, and more premium design and materials. The key highlights of the interior include a new 13-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, Skoda Smart Dials - three knobs with a 32mm display to control temperature and other functions, a 10-inch driver display, an redesigned steering wheel, 15W wireless charging pads, up to four USB Type-C ports with a power output of 45W, and a 15W Type-C USB port on the rear-view mirror.
For the first time, Skoda has given the new-gen Kodiaq (and also the all-new Superb) a heads-up display. On top of all that, there is a new gear selector located on the steering column.
More importantly, Skoda has used recycled polyester for the upholstery and textiles. The leather has gone through an eco-friendly tanning that uses coffee bean processing residue or using wastewater from olive processing. As a part of the Skoda Design Selections, three interior trims are available: Loft, Lounge, and ecoSuite trim levels across Black or Cognac themes.
2024 Skoda Kodiaq: Engine optionsPowering the new-gen Kodiaq is likely to be the same petrol and diesel engines. Currently, the on-sale SUV comes with a 1.5-litre petrol, 2.0-litre petrol, and 2.0-litre diesel options.having said that, the all-new Kodiaq is expected to gain a plug-in hybrid powertrain for the first time.
