New Skoda Kodiaq will come to India in mid-2025
The new generation of the Skoda Kodiaq is on its way to India, just not this year. Skoda India will bring the big SUV to India in the middle of 2025. This is the 2nd generation of the Kodiaq and the car is currently undergoing testing as the SUV was spotted testing in India a couple of weeks ago.
The next-gen Kodiaq features a new design but still carries over some signature styling cues from its predecessor. Skoda's 'Modern Solid' design language makes the SUV look sharper and larger than the previous model. Key highlights include a bolder butterfly grille, angular headlamp and fog lamps, and new rear lights with a light stripe across the width. In addition, newly designed alloy wheels come in different sizes ranging between 17- and 20-inches.
New Skoda Kodiaq: DimensionsIts length has gone up by 61mm to 4,758mm, while the width has decreased by 18mm to 1,864mm. The new model is also shorter by 17mm at 1,659mm. However, its wheelbase remains the same at 2,971mm.
New Skoda Kodiaq: Powertrain
Under the hood, there won't be any altercations as the Kodiaq will continue using the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 190PS and 320Nm of torque. It will be mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and will feature a standard 4-wheel drive setup.
The new Skoda Kodiaq was unveiled last year and debuted with mild hybrid and PHEV models as well. Sadly, neither will those nor the diesel will set foot in India.
New Skoda Kodiaq: Interior & FetauresThe biggest update comes inside the cabin, with plenty of modern touches. It gets a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch driver display, a heads-up display, a wireless charging pad, USB Type-C fast charging ports, and a two-spoke steering wheel. The new-gen Kodiaq, alongside the all-new Superb, debuts a new Smart Dial setup âÂ" three rotary knobs below the infotainment system allow users to access various controls. Additionally, there is wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 14-speaker Canton sound system, ambient lighting, powered front seats with cooled and heated functions, a panoramic sunroof, telematics, and connected car tech. Skoda has also given it ADAS, up to nine airbags, ESP, hill hold control, and hill descent assist, among others.
New Skoda Kodiaq: Price
The Kodiaq has been a successful offering for Skoda Auto India as its first and second batches were sold out in a short period. The new model is also expected to follow in the same footsteps. That being said, the upcoming Kodiaq is likely to command a higher premium over its predecessor. The previous version is currently available in India and is priced at Rs 38.50 lakh and 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect the new car to be priced around Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom).
