New Suzuki Swift breaks cover at Japan Mobility Show
Suzuki has unveiled the all-new fourth-generation Swift at the Tokyo Motor Show. The new Swift will have a new look, a new dashboard layout, new features, an improved powertrain, and much more. The car is still considered a concept, but it is anticipated to arrive in India as the new Maruti Suzuki Swift next year.
The Swift hatchback has a revised front bumper and grille with muscular black surrounds, as well as reworked smoked LED headlights with DRLs. Below it gets the revised fog lamp housing with splitter. The Suzuki emblem has been added to the hood, and it will be equipped with freshly styled dual-tone alloy wheels.
Other notable features include blacked-out ORVMs, roofs, and pillars. It also has distinct character lines that go across the door panels. It receives a redesigned tailgate and a new bumper with a skid plate below at the back. An integrated rear spoiler with a stop signal, LED taillights with C-shaped DRLs, and reflectors below are further features.
New Suzuki Swift: PowertrainThe car presented at the mobility show is a hybrid variant, but it will be available in India with the traditional 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine delivering 90Ps and 113Nm and connected to either a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic manual transmission.
This engine will be equipped with mild-hybrid technology and CNG compatibility.
New Suzuki Swift: Interior
Inside, the new Swift's dashboard design is inspired by the existing Maruti Suzuki lineup. It receives a new dashboard design with a floating infotainment system over elegant AC vents and HVAC controls. Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, linked automobile technology, steering-mounted controls, automated climate controls, and other convenience features are also planned.
The worldwide standard Swift will also get a 360-degree camera and a slew of ADAS technologies including dual sensor brake assistance, adaptive high beam help, driver monitoring system, and collision mitigation braking system. The Indian-spec model is not likely to include all of these features.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift has been a very popular car among Indian buyers for a while now and is priced between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 9.03 lakh (ex-showroom).
