New Suzuki Swift spotted testing
Unveiled at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show in November last year, the new generation Swift has already gone on sale in Japan. However, the hatchback is still have not been introduced in India yet. But it could be launched soon as a test mule of the new Swift has been spotted testing in the country.
While the previously spied new-gen Swift revealed that a blind spot monitoring system, hinting at a handful of driver assistance features, the latest batch of spy pictures show that it is likely to get a large floating-style touchscreen infotainment system similar to the Brezza and Baleno. However, the interior of the India-spec model could be carried over from the Swift available in the Japanese market.
Other features may include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging pad, USB Type-C ports, 360deg camera, heads-up display, cruise control, six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, ESP, TPMS, LED headlamps, and among others.
New Suzuki Swift: Engine specificationsSuzuki offers a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated Z-series petrol engine with the Swift that makes 82PS and 108Nm of torque. The Japan-spec model comes with a five-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission. According to WLTP, the new Swift returns a mileage of 23.4kmpl, while the Swift with mid-hybrid assistance gives out a fuel efficiency of 24.5kmpl.
In contrast, the current Maruti Suzuki Swift gets a 1.2-litre, inline four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 90PS and 113Nm of torque. This motor is mated to a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT transmission.
New Suzuki Swift: Price
The new generation Swift is expected to be priced between Rs 6-6.40 lakh and go up to Rs 10.50 lakh. Once launched, which is likely to in the coming months, it will take on the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
