New Tata Altroz XM and XM (S) variants launched; prices start at Rs 6.90 lakh
Tata Motors has expanded its Altroz lineup in India with the two new petrol variants, namely XM and XM(S). Priced at Rs 6.90 lakh and Rs 7.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively, these variants occupy a position between the XE and XM+ trims. Notably, these new variants stand out for their additional features, particularly the inclusion of an electric sunroof, which claims to make the Altroz the most affordable premium hatchback offering this feature at this price point.
The Altroz XM variant comes with several new features, including a height-adjustable driver's seat, steering-wheel-mounted controls, powered and auto-foldable outside door view mirrors, and 16-inch tyres with full wheel cover. Whereas, the Altroz XM(S) variant boasts the electric sunroof, providing customers with an added sense of luxury and comfort. Customers can also opt for the optional extra of a larger nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system. These variants are only available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine linked to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Additional features for Tata Altroz petrol manual variants
All petrol manual variants of the Altroz, starting from the XE, have now come with four power windows and remote keyless entry as standard features. The XE variant also benefits from follow me home headlamps. Further, the XM+ and XM+ S variants get rear power windows, remote keyless entry, a reverse camera, cruise control, and a height-adjustable driver's seat. Meanwhile, the XT variant has received enhancements such as a rear defogger, R16 Hyperstyle wheels, and a height-adjustable driver's seat.
Tata Altroz Powertrain
Under the hood, the Tata Altroz is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 88PS and 115Nm of torque. This motor is paired with a five-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Altroz is also available with a 1.2-litre, inline three-cylinder, turbo petrol engine producing 110PS and 140Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel unit generating 90PS and 200Nm of torque. Both the turbo petrol and diesel engines are coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox.
