New Tata Tiago and Tigor twin-cylinder CNG launched; prices start at Rs 6.55 lakh
Tata Motors has launched the new Tiago and Tigor CNG in India equipped with its twin-cylinder CNG system that debuted with the Altroz CNG. Both the hatchback and sedan now feature a more compact dual-cylinder CNG setup instead of the conventional single tank, offering more boot space. Notably, the prices of the CNG-powered Tiago start at Rs 6.55 lakh (ex-showroom), while the prices of the Tigor CNG start at Rs 7.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The carmaker has also introduced the Punch CNG in the country, with prices starting at Rs 7.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Tata Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG: VariantsTo begin with, the Tiago CNG with twin-cylinder setup is available in a range of variants, starting from XE, XM, XT, XZ+, and XZ+ dual-tone, including the XT NRG and XZ NRG. Whereas, the Tigor CNG with twin-cylinder setup is offered in four variants, namely XM, XZ, XZ+, and XZ+ LP.
New Tata Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG: Powertrain
Powering the Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 86PS and 113Nm of torque. This motor makes 73.5PS and 103Nm of torque in the CNG mode. It comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Unlike the large single-cylinder CNG tank, the unique twin-cylinder CNG tank setup sits under the floor of the boot, leaving considerable space for luggage. Tata also claims that Tigor now has a CNG tank capacity of 70 litres â€" the highest in the industry.
