New Triumph Daytona starts arriving at showrooms in India

The new Triumph Daytona 660 recently started arriving at dealerships across India. A few videos and social media posts showed the pictures and even unboxing of the brand spanking new Daytona 600. The motorcycle's market debut was originally planned for April-May, but it was postponed. The launch is now expected to take place by the end of this month or early in July. Some Triumph showrooms have already opened unofficial bookings.

New Triumph Daytona 660: Highlights

The upcoming Daytona 660 is likely to carry over the same features and specifications as the model already on sale in the international markets. It will come equipped with a fully digital display similar to the Trident 660, Bluetooth connectivity, three riding modes (Sport, Road, and Rain), traction control, and an Emergency Deceleration Warning system.

Further, it will get Showa upside down front forks, Showa rear monoshock, dual 310mm front discs with a four-piston radial calliper, and a single 220mm rear disc with a single-piston calliper. The India-spec version, as shown in a video, will boast Michelin Power 6 tyres.

New Triumph Daytona 660: Engine specifications

The Daytona 660 benefits from the same 660cc, inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine available with the Trident 660 and Tiger 660. However, in this case, this motor claims to provide 17 per cent more power and nine per cent more torque â€" 95PS at 11,250rpm and 69Nm of torque at 8,250rpm. Not only that, over 80 per cent of the torque is usable from as low as 3,125rpm. Mated to this engine is a six-speed gearbox with assist clutch, while a bi-directional quickshifter is available as an optional extra.

The motorcycle also comes fitted with a new exhaust system, featuring a 3-in-1 header and a compact underslung silencer with a stainless steel finish to create a distinctive exhaust note. Having said that, the signature symphony of the Triumph's inline triple is also expected to be retained.

New Triumph Daytona 660: Pricing

While the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660 are priced at Rs 8.25 lakh and Rs 9.47 lakh (both ex-showroom), respectively, the new Daytona 660 is expected to slot between them with an estimated price range of Rs 8.80-9 lakh.
