New Yamaha Tenere 700 unveiled at EICMA 2024

The 2025 Tenere 700, a well-known adventure bike, has been unveiled by Yamaha. Nearly six years after the first Tnr 700's 2019 launch, it now receives its first significant style change. The new bike gets updated styling, suspension, ergonomics and Yamaha's Chip Controlled Throttle (ride-by-wire).

Yamaha has updated the 698cc parallel-twin motor and it now produces 73,4PS and 68Nm of torque. The biggest talking point though is that the new bike now gets Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) which replaces the cable-operated system. You may choose between Explorer and Sport, with Explorer being the softer option. The clutch cover has been changed to lessen the biker's leg contact, and the six-speed gearbox has new internals.

The suspension is also new; the base model has a 43 mm USD fork and a new, stronger cast aluminum upper and forged aluminum lower clamp. A new monoshock with a linkage that provides 180 mm of travel (compared to 200 mm on the standard) is located at the back. The low seat model maintains a generous 225mm of ground clearance while giving up 20mm of suspension travel in the front and back.

All Tenere models have undergone cosmetic changes, including new color-matched panels and a significantly redesigned front end with a new headlamp. It also gets new indicators, bigger footpegs, body color-matching handguards, and a new one-piece rally-style seat.

A new 6.3-inch TFT screen that resembles a digital rally book is one of the new Tenere's characteristics. The switchgear is fresh new and comes with a standard USB-C charging connector.
