Next-gen Maruti Swift Dzire to arrive before all-new Swift in India
The 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire has been caught testing in India. The spy pictures suggest that the Swift Dzire gets a large front grille and projector headlamps with integrated day time running lights. Maruti Suzuki appears to have completely re-worked the rear design which was the biggest shortcoming of the Dzire. The tail section appears to blend well with the overall design and no longer looks like an afterthought.
It gets an all new rear bumper and LED tail lamps. Although the test mule was heavily camouflaged, the spy pictures suggest that the next-generation Maruti Swift Dzire will sport an aggressive styling. The test mule was also equipped with alloy wheels.
This particular set of spy pictures does not reveal the interior of the car. However, the next-generation Dzire is likely to get a similar cabin layout as the next-generation Swift.
We were quite surprised to know that Maruti Suzuki was caught testing the all-new Dzire in India. The carmaker was expected to introduce the next-generation Swift to our shores first followed by the all-new Swift Dzire. Our sources in the company have confirmed that it will be the other way round.
The next-generation Maruti Swift Dzire is likely to retain the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines from the outgoing model. Maruti Suzuki is likely to launch the all-new Swift Dzire sometime early next year. Once launched in India, the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire will rival the likes of Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze, Tata Zest, Ford Aspire and the Volkswagen Ameo.
