Next-gen Skoda Superb, Kodiaq coming in 2023, Octavia facelift in 2024
As Skoda revealed its new direction alongside the unveiling of the Skoda Vision 7S, the Czech firm also put down launch timelines for its popular internal combustion models. These will continue to sell alongside the three new EVs Skoda has planned for launch in Europe by 2026.
2023 Skoda Superb, Skoda Kodiaq global debutThe next generation of the Skoda Superb and the Skoda Kodiaq will debut globally by the second half of 2024. Both cars will continue to be based on the MQB architecture but in its latest Evo guise that allows for more electrification and digitisation. Both, the Superb and the Kodiaq, are expected to grow larger and feature many of the design causes seen on the new Octavia but updated further to incorporate the brand's new identity.

While the turbo-petrol and turbo-diesel engines will continue into this generation, they will be the last ones that the VW develops before a complete switch to electrification. There will be mild-hybrid assistance as well as even stricter emission controls to meet Euro 7 norms. Also, the cars are also expected to get an upgraded plug-in hybrid powertrain which should allow for almost 100 km of EV-only driving.
Another big change should be in the look of the interiors. The 2024 Skoda Superb and Kodiaq are expected to get a new cabin layout so far unseen on Skoda cars. They will most likely share the 13-inch touchscreen from the Enyaq iV but get a layout with more physical controls as well as a more upmarket yet simplified look. A whole host of connected-tech features are expected. These Skoda models should come to India by 2024 with largely petrol engine options.
2024 Skoda Octavia facelift global debutFollowing the new Superb and Kodiaq will be the mid-life update for the Skoda Octavia. This generation of the Skoda Octavia was unveiled in 2019 but only came to India in 2021 so the model is due for a mid-life update soon. This will happen in 2024 which should see the Octavia get a new face to bring it in line with the new Superb and Kodiaq. There should be a larger grille as well as slimmer headlamps.
Aside from more hybrid options, the Octavia could also get the latest VW Group combustion engines. But, like the Superb and Octavia the focus will most likely be on a revamped interior with larger screens and more connected tech. Expect to see the revised Octavia come to India by late 2024 or early 2025. Also read,
