Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS launched at Rs 2.54 crores in India
Porsche India has launched the new flagship model in the 718 family, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS at Rs 2.54 crores (ex-showroom)
Porsche promises an uncompromising driver's car designed to impress with its lightweight construction, extremely agile chassis set-up, sophisticated aerodynamics and a unique soundtrack. This track-oriented machine features unique GT4 RS badges and has been positioned as the top-of-the-line model.
The carbon fibre reinforced plastic front fenders and bonnet distinguish the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS from the standard Cayman. The rear window is constructed of lightweight glass, and the GT4 RS is kept rooted at speed thanks to the mounts attach on top of the wing), which was derived from the 911 RSR. The 718 Cayman has 20-inch aluminium wheels with central locking, which is a first.
The 911 GT3 Cup-derived 4-litre naturally aspirated flat-6 petrol engine, which pushes out at 500PS and 450 Nm, is at the core of the tuned-up 718 Cayman GT4 RS. The engine has a maximum rev limit of 9,000 rpm and is mated to a new 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds, and then to 200 kmph in under 10.9 seconds.
The interior of the GT4 RS resembles that of the normal Cayman. There are lightweight carpets, lightweight door panels and lightweight cloth door pulls rather than handles. And being an absolute track machine, the car still features an infotainment screen in front of the shifter.
The car arrives in India as a CBU and is priced at Rs 2.54 crores.
