Pre-bookings for the Mercedes-EQS 580 4MATIC commence at Rs 25 lakh
Mercedes-Benz India will unveil the brand-new Mercedes-EQS 580 4MATIC. The EQS 580 may now be reserved for a nominal fee of Rs 25 lakh.
EQS 580 4MATIC (combined electrical consumption (NEDC): 19.6-17.6 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions: 0 g/km); exterior: diamond white; interior: leather nappa beige;Combined electrical consumption (NEDC): 19.6-17.6 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions: 0 g/km*
This would be the German luxury carmaker's first locally built electric vehicle ever made in India. The brand-new EQS 580 4Matic luxury sedan will be locally put together at Mercedes-Benz India's top-notch production site in Chakan, Maharashtra, which is close to Pune.
On September 30, Nitin Gadkari, the Indian government's Minister of Roads and Highways, will wheel it off the production line. At the time of its debut, India's longest-range electric car will be the new Mercedes-Benz EQS 580.
The EQS 580 4MATIC features a 107.8 kWh battery pack and is said to deliver a driving range of 770kms. It has 2 electric motors on each axle for a combined power out of 523PS and 855 Nm of torque. With those impressive specs, the EQS 580 can accelerate from a complete stop to 100 kmph in 4.3 seconds and top out at 210 kmph before being electronically limited.
While the EQS 580 and AMG EQS 53 are pretty much the same car design-wise, the former will miss out on the AMG trim such as the front grille and certain driving features that are strictly AMG specific.
The highlight of the Mercedes-EQ EQS 580 4MATIC is the MBUX Hyperscreen, a curved 56-inch "screen" stretching across the dash made up of smaller screens that serve as the EQS' central control system.
We expect the EQS 580 4MATIC to be priced just below the 2 crore mark once it makes its way to India. It will face competition from the likes of the Audi e-tron GT and Porsche Taycan.
