Premium Car Award 2025 by ICOTY
The ICOTY is the most prestigious automotive award in India and the winners have been selected by 20 decorated judges representing esteemed publications which also include Kranti Sambhav, Editor at OVERDRIVE and Rohit Paradkar, Assistant Editor at OVERDRIVE. The panel consist of seasoned experts from esteemed publications that will evaluate the nominations on the basis of key factors such as performance, practicality, frugality, and safety to name a few. Every year the ICOTY jury picks out eight contenders in each of the categories. This year's nominees for the Premium Car Award 2025 were the BYD Seal, BMW i5, Mercedes-Benz EQS, Mercedes EQS Maybach, Mini Cooper S, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Kia Carnival, and the BMW M5.
The Premium Car Award 2025 is bagged by the Mercedes-Benz E-Class with 140 points.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class - Rs 78.50 lakh
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines with 200PS/320Nm and 197PS/440Nm, respectively. There is also a new 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit that generates 381PS. These engines offer slightly more combined output because of an electric boost. All engines are mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Key mentions include panoramic sunroof, projector headlamps, ADAS suite, 8-airbags, EBD, ABS, ESC, hill descent control, and 360 degree camera to name a few.
The first runner up for the category was the BMW 5-Series with 107 points and the second runner up was the Kia Carnival with 65 points.
