Atumobile Pvt Ltd. commences delivery of its electric bike Atum 1.0
Atumobile Pvt. Ltd., a Hyderabad-based electric vehicles start-up, commenced delivery of Atum 1.0, a new generation electric bike. The cost-effective, performance-oriented, caf-racer styled electric bike was handed over to the first 10 customers by Vamsi Gaddam, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Atumobile Pvt. Ltd. at the manufacturing plant located in Patancheru, Hyderabad.
Launched on 1 September 2020, Atum1.0 e-bike had generated widespread interest in the market. Specifically designed for the needs of the upwardly mobile Indian consumer, and with a base price of Rs. 50,000, Atum1.0 has redefined e-mobility with its sturdy build and a retro, vintage design. Since its launch, the Company has received over 400 bookings from across the length and breadth of India including Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, and Bengaluru apart from other towns and cities.
Speaking at the event where he handed over the first 10 e-bikes, Mr. Vamsi Gaddam, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Atumobile Pvt. Ltd. and the man who envisioned the electric bike, said, "I am delighted to handover the first 10 Atum 1.0 e-bikes to the customers. This is a concrete step in our endeavour to help the environment by promoting renewable energy-based e-mobility solutions for the Indian consumer. Atum 1.0 is just the first product in our line-up of electric two-wheelers which is expected to grow in the near future. Atum1.0 is powered by a portable lithium-ion battery pack, that charges in just under 4 hours, Atum 1.0 offers a range of 100 kmph in a single charge. The electric bike comes with a 1 year battery warranty and is available in a wide range of colours. With the design successfully tested, over varying and extreme conditions, the final product, which has a premium caf racer feel to it, has been developed using indigenous parts.
Atum 1.0 is manufactured at a greenfield manufacturing facility located in Telangana which has the capacity to manufacture 15000 e-bikes annually. Atum 1.0 is approved, as a low-speed bike, by the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) which makes it ready for commercial use. Additionally, Atum 1.0 does not need a registration and the person driving it does not need a license.
Atum 1.0 comes with a lightweight portable battery pack of 6 kgs. It's easy to carry design allows the users to charge it anywhere using a normal 3-pin socket. Atum 1.0 can cover 100 kilometers in a single charge. It is very cost-effective to operate as it consumes around 1 unit per charge, which translates to Rs. 7-10 per day (for 100 kilometers) as compared to the traditional ICE bikes, which cost almost Rs. 80-100 a day (for 100 kilometers).
The USP of Atumobile1.0 is its design which is completely proprietary and has been built in-house from scratch. The electric bike, with its range of features such as 20X4 fat-bike tires to conquer any road; comfortable seat height with one of the best-in-class ground clearance; long lasting Batteries with 2 years warranty and a range of 100 kms in a single charge; and, a complete digital display incorporating LED headlight, indicators & taillight, is already being considered as the new benchmark for the Indian e-bike segment.
