Production-ready Innova Hycross-based Maruti Suzuki MPV spied
It is no secret that Maruti Suzuki is readying the Toyota Innova Hycross-based MPV for the Indian market. It is said that the carmaker will name its upcoming MPV, the Engage. Above all, the official unveiling of Maruti's new MPV will take place in India on 5 July, 2023. Maruti Suzuki's version of the Toyota Innova Hycross will bear a few subtle cosmetic changes to differentiate between the two MPVs. The Maruti Suzuki Engage MPV is also likely to offer the same powertrain options as its counterpart.
New Maruti Suzuki MPV spied: DesignThe first batch of spy photos of the Maruti Suzuki MPV reveals its front end. As seen in the pictures, the MPV is not camouflaged and hence its distinctive new grille with Suzuki logo is visible. Adjoining the Suzuki logo are two parallel chrome strips, which also connect the headlamp. Apart from that, the Toyota Innova Hycross and Maruti Suzuki MPV will be almost identical in terms of design. However, Maruti may offer distinctive alloy wheels as one of the Maruti MPVs in the pictures has a set of new wheels.
New Maruti Suzuki MPV spied: Interior
Although there are no spy photos available of its cabin, the new Maruti Suzuki MPV is likely to retain the same interior styling as the Innova Hycross. It is expected to feature a different seating layouts, such as seven- and eight-seat. Maruti's version of the Innova Hycross could also carry the same features, such as multi-zone temperature control, 360deg camera, powered second-row seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, powered front-row seat with ventilation function, USB Type-C ports, and more. The Maruti MPV could also get ADAS.
New Maruti Suzuki MPV spied: PowertrainThe Maruti Suzuki MPV is likely to be powered by the same 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and 2.0-litre naturally aspirated strong-hybrid petrol powertrain. Both come mated only to a CVT automatic transmission.
New Maruti Suzuki MPV spied: Price and rivalsWhile the prices of the Toyota Innova Hycross start at Rs 18.55 lakh and go up to Rs 29.99 lakh (both ex-showroom), it is interesting to see how Maruti Suzuki prices its MPV. Upon launch, the Maruti MPV will rival the Toyota Innova Hycross, Toyota Innova Crysta, and Kia Carens.
