Range Rover Evoque local assembly brings the price down to Rs 48.73 lakh
After the XF, XJ and the Freelander 2, Jaguar Land Rover India have started locally assembling the Range Rover Evoque. The assembly takes place at the company's facility in Pune.
When it was launched, the Evoque was priced at Rs 45 lakh, however currently it retails for around Rs 70 lakh. The Range Rover Evoque is an Audi Q5 competitor but is significantly more expensive than the latter. Local assembly have now brought down the prices to a startling Rs 48.73 lakh ex-Mumbai. Deliveries start from next month.
The Evoque in India is available with 3-door as well as 5-door options. There are petrol as well as diesel engines on offer. The engines come mated to 9-speed automatic transmissions. Recently the 2016 Range Rover Evoque was displayed at the Geneva Show and it is likely that this model will be launched later this year. A, what with it being spotted testing at the company's facility. We can expect it to be launched at the 2016.

Pune, India: Jaguar Land Rover has announced that the award-winning Range Rover Evoque will be added to its Pune manufacturing facility to support sales growth in the local market. This will be the fourth vehicle at the plant joining the Freelander 2, Jaguar XF and XJ at the Pune factory.
Production at the Pune plant has tripled since its inauguration in 2011 and this latest development in the facility comes as part of Jaguar Land Rover's plans to expand its manufacturing footprint globally, increasing its production capacity outside of the UK.

The award-winning Range Rover Evoque will be available in a 2.2 Litre SD4 Diesel engine, delivering a maximum power output of 140 kW @ 3,500 rpm and maximum torque of 420 Nm @ 2,000 rpm. It will be offered in three derivatives: Pure, Dynamic and Prestige.
Ex-Showroom Mumbai (Pre-Octroi) prices for the three derivatives are as follows:
1) Range Rover Evoque SD4 (140 kW), 5 Door Pure : INR 48.73 Lacs
2) Range Rover Evoque SD4 (140 kW), 5 Door Dynamic : INR 52.40 Lacs
3) Range Rover Range Rover Evoque SD4 (140 kW), 5 Door Prestige : INR 56.21 Lacs
All derivatives come with a class-leading automatic transmission and include standard features like Front and Rear Parking sensors with Rear View Camera, Navigation System, Fixed Panoramic Sunroof and Land Rover's state of the art Terrain Response System.
The locally-manufactured Range Rover Evoque is now available for sale with deliveries expected to begin from early April 2015.
India is one of Jaguar Land Rover's top 20 markets globally with sales increasing by 20% in the last three years. The company has had a presence in India since 2009 and since then, both the Jaguar and Land Rover brands have gained significant prominence and popularity in the Indian market.
