Renault Group and Jiangling Motors collaborate to build an all electric sedan, the Mobilize Limo

In 2018, the Renault Group and Jiangling Motors Group Co., Ltd (JMCG) formed a joint venture and have now shown the results of their efforts. Meet the Mobilize Limo, a four-door sedan with a full-electric powertrain designed exclusively for taxi/PHV drivers and fleets. The subscription-only service will feature bundles and a la carte mobility options.

Mobilize claims that the Limo is the ideal vehicle for drivers seeking emission-free, prestigious, and low-cost commuting. With a battery that can go approximately 450 kilometres between charges (pending WLTP certification) and a quiet, smooth, and vibration-free driving experience, this is a vehicle that will satisfy whatever fears drivers and fleet managers may have about electric mobility.

Mobilize Limo is equipped with a high-capacity all-electric engine that produces 150PS and 220 Nm of torque. The Limo is anticipated to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.6 seconds, with a top speed of 140 kmph. Three driving modes are available (Eco, Normal, Sport). Regenerative braking intensity may also be adjusted via the vehicle's settings to one of three levels.

Mobilize Limo will be sold as a package deal that includes both the car and services for a wide range of drivers, including taxis, PHVs, and other private transportation services such as medical transport, community transport etc. Mobilize's bundle of services will contain something for everyone, whether they are full-time, part-time, or one-time drivers. Other Renault Group electric vehicles will be able to use these services as well.

The Mobilize Limo features a fluid but dynamic shape that is right there with current designs and symbolises the shift to electric cars. Front and rear Mobilize branding, flush door handles, LED lights with scrolling indications, 17-inch smoke-finish aluminium rims enhance the character of this design. The dashboard has a two-screen digital interface that spans the upper portion of the dash. A 10.25-inch screen for the instrument panel and a 12.3-inch touchscreen for multimedia controls in the centre.

The Limo's driver's seat was intended to provide professional drivers with the most ergonomic and acoustically pleasant seat possible. It has eight electric seat settings and a steering column that can be changed for both height and depth, ensuring that drivers are in the best possible position, regardless of their body shape. Between the two front seats is a refrigerated storage unit. Because of its 2.75m wheelbase, the Mobilize Limo should have plenty of room in the back. The boot of the Mobilize Limo has a 411 litre capacity.

Clotilde Delbos, CEO of Mobilize "The first Mobilize model, Limo, is the response of our new brand to the evolution of the ride-hailing market. This offer, which combines a vehicle and flexible services, fully illustrates Mobilize's ability to accompany users in their new needs. It also demonstrates a unique know-how resulting from the experience of the Renault Group in mobility services and RCI Bank and Services' strength in financing".

The Mobilize Limo will be revealed for the first time at the Munich IAA Mobility 2021, at the Renault exhibit, on September 8th, as part of a special Mobilize day. After that, a fleet of 40 Mobilize Limos will be deployed to test services that will be accessible across Europe in the second part of 2022.
