Renault Triber AMT bookings open in India, prices start from Rs 6.18 lakhs
Renault India has started accepting bookings for the AMT-equipped Triber MPV, termed the Renault Triber Easy-R. Prices start from Rs 6.18 lakh for the RXL variant. The AMT charges a Rs 40,000 premium over an equivalent manual version.
Bookings can be made online, on the My Renault App or at a Renault authorized dealership. Dealerships have started accepting bookings and giving out test drives. Deliveries are set to commence in the next few weeks.
The Triber AMT is available with the RXL, RXT and RXZ trims of the Triber. The RXT version costs Rs 6.68 lakh while the RXZ variant can be had for Rs 7.22 lakh. Prices are ex-showroom India. Notable features on the Renault Triber are the removable Easyfix third-row seats, sliding and foldable second-row, the three-row AC, LED instrument cluster and the eight-inch touchscreen infotainment.
The Triber sits on a heavily reworked version of the CMF-A platform. It has been specifically designed for the India market and has been jointly developed by the firm's French and Indian teams. Dimensionally, it is 3,990mm long, 1,739mm wide and 1,643mm tall. The wheelbase is 2,636mm. Ground clearance is 182mm. Boot space is between 84 litres and 625 litres. Five colour options are available.
The Triber's 999cc Energy engine makes 72PS at 6,250rpm and 96 Nm at 3,500rpm, here it gets the same Easy-R 5-speed AMT as seen in the Kwid. Renault has already revealed the Triber AMT's fuel-efficiency figures to be 20.5kmpl.
It is also expected that Renault will introduce a new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motor for the Triber which was also showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. This is the TCe 100 motor already available internationally in the Renault Clio and the Nissan Micra. This motor is already Euro-6DTemp compliant abroad, equivalent to our BSVI norms. The motor puts out up to 100PS and 160 Nm.
