Skoda India launch the new Kodiaq at Rs 34.99 lakh
The new Skoda Kodiaq has long been in the works and Skoda have finally launched its new SUV starting at Rs 34.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The all-new Skoda Kodiaq now adds a dash more toughness with its revamped front and back, additional off-road capabilities and a hexagonal Skoda grille. The Kodiaq now has a redesigned bonnet, body-coloured front and rear bumpers, and new visual and functional improvements to the head and taillight clusters. The Skoda Crystalline LEDs with lit eyelashes and dynamic turn indicators have been added to the headlights. Furthermore, the huge SUV's aerodynamics are improved with a new rear spoiler design.
The 2.0-litre diesel from the previous version of the Skoda Kodiaq is replaced with the EA888 2.0-litre turbo-petrol also fitted to the Skoda Superb and Octavia. This engine produces 190PS and 320 Nm and is paired with a seven-speed DCT. All-wheel-drive will continue to be available as well as features like hill-descent control. Further, the new Kodiaq will also be offered adaptive suspension.
The Skoda Kodiaq will be available in three variants - Style, Sportline and Laurin and Klement. The previous off-road themed Scout trim has been dropped from the line-up for now. Feature highlights will include an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, cooled and heated front seats with 12-way power adjustment and 12 speaker Canton audio system.
With seven seats up, the Skoda Kodiaq has an illuminated and cooled glovebox in the front and 270 litres of cargo space in the back. You also get a total of 630 litres of storage space when the last row seats are folded down.
While the three variants differ in terms of appearance, materials, and colour, none of them sacrifices safety, with every active and passive safety feature standard across the board. The Skoda Kodiaq comes standard with 9 airbags, as well as adaptive front lighting and automatic dimming. Electrical, mechanical external mirror (on driver side) and defogging overall clear surfaces and park assist with handsfree, as well as hydraulic brake aid, stability control, multi-collision braking and multi-collision braking. Among other things, parking Hill descent control and a 360-degree camera are also included in the flagship Laurin and Klement variant.
