Skoda Kushaq garners 3,000 bookings since launch

Reports suggest Skoda India has received over 3,000 bookings for its newest offering, the 2021 Skoda Kushaq. The Kushaq went on sale on June 28 with bookings also opening the same day. Prospective buyers can book the Skoda Kushaq with a Rs 35,000 deposit online or at a Skoda dealership. Currently, the Czech brand has been delivering the 1.0-litre versions of the Skoda Kushaq with deliveries for the 1.5-litre versions to begin early next month.

2021 Skoda Kushaq engines, gearbox

The Skoda Kushaq was revealed in production form in March 2021 and is developed on the heavily indigenized MQB-A0-IN architecture. The SUV is available in two engine and four gearbox options. The range starts with the 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine from the Rapid with 110PS and 175 Nm. With a six-speed manual, the six-speed torque converter from the Rapid is also available across the three variants this motor is offered in. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol is the same unit from the Karoq that makes 150PS/250 Nm and pairs with a seven-speed DCT. The larger engine also gets a different six-speed manual. Skoda Kushaq features, safety, dimensions

Notable features available on the 2021 Skoda Kushaq are LED exterior lighting, a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, wireless charging, type-C USB charging, app-based connected-car features, a single-pane sunroof, climate control, ventilated front seats, 17-inch alloy wheels. Lower spec cars get a smaller screen, manual AC, standard LED or halogen lighting and downsized 16-inch wheels. Each variant of the Kushaq is available with unique trim and upholstery choices. All versions offer large amounts of interior storage, and many of Skoda's practicality features like a ticket holder, bottle straps in the door bins, seatback phone holder and bag hooks in the boot. Safety features are appealing with the Kushaq being one of the first mainstream cars to offer ESC as standard. Other than this, there are six airbags, TPMS, hill-hold function, rear parking camera, front parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The Skoda Kushaq is 4,225 mm long, 1,760 mm wide and 1,612 mm tall. Wheelbase is the longest in the segment at 2,651mm. The Kushaq's ground clearance is 155mm while boot-space is 385 litres.
