Skoda Kushaq & Slavia 1.5 TSI now offered strictly with a 7-speed DSG
Skoda Auto India has removed the 6-speed manual transmission for the 1.5-litre engine versions of the Skoda Slavia and Kushaq meaning now the engine will only be offered with a 7-speed DSG transmission. The 1.5 TSI sedan prices now start from 16.69 lakh and the SUV from Rs 16.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
Until recently, the 1.5-litre engine that produces 150PS and 250Nm could be acquired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG. The manual is now delisted from the brand's portfolio and is now offered only with the 1.-litre that produces 115PS and 178Nm of torque. The 1.0-litre 3-cylinder can also be optioned with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Customers still interested in the 1.5-litre with a manual gearbox will have to turn their interest towards Skoda's sister cars, the Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun. The Virtus 1.5 MT starts from Rs 17.28 lakh while the Taigun 1.5 MT starts from Rs 16.77 lakh (ex-showroom).
