Skoda Kylaq scores a perfect score in Bharat NCAP crash test

In the safety tests conducted by the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP), the Skoda Kylaq received a 5-star rating for both adult and child occupant protection. For Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), the Kylaq received a score of 30.88 out of 32, and for Child Occupant Protection (COP), it received a score of 45 out of 49.

The Kylaq obtained a score of 15.04 out of 16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test. According to the study, the driver's head, neck, and right leg were all well protected, and the chest area was well protected. The head, neck, chest, and legs of the front passenger were well protected. With a score of 15.84 out of 16, it demonstrated strong protection for the head and lower back while maintaining a sufficient grade for the upper back in the side moveable deformable barrier test.

Using the child restraint systems, the Kylaq scored 24 out of 24 in the dynamic test for child occupant protection. The dynamic score for the 18-month-old's side and front protection was 4 out of 4 and 8 out of 8, respectively. For the side and frontal impacts, the 3-year-old youngster received a perfect score of 4 out of 4 and 8 out of 8, respectively.

Six airbags, three-point seatbelts with reminders for every passenger, Electronic Stability Control, and ISOFIX anchors for the back outboard seats are standard on the Skoda Kylaq. Prices for the all-new compact SUV start from Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
