Skoda previews interior of the new-gen Kodiaq and Superb
Ahead of their global unveiling, Czech Republic-based carmaker Skoda has revealed the interior design of the second-generation Kodiaq and fourth-generation Superb. Both new models feature a completely overhauled interior with a range of additions.
The new Superb and Kodiaq get a modern and more premium cabin. First up, Skoda has given them a large 13-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch driver display, a heads-up display âÂ" a first for the SUV and saloon, Skoda Smart Dials âÂ" three knobs with a 32mm display to control temperature and other functions, 15W wireless charging pads, an updated steering wheel, and roomier centre console equipped with USB Type-C sockets. Additionally, the 2024 Kodiaq and Superb feature a Mercedes-Benz style gear selector, which has been moved to the steering column. There are up to four USB-C ports with a power output of 45W and a 15W Type-C USB port on the rear-view mirror.
What is more important is the brand has utilised recycled polyester for the upholstery of the new Kodiaq and Superb. Part of the Skoda Design Selections, customers can choose from Loft, Lounge, and ecoSuite trim levels available in Black or Cognac, with textiles made from recycled polyester. In fact, the leather in the ecoSuite option has gone through an eco-friendly tanning method using coffee bean processing residues. The range-topping L&K version offers L&K Suite trim in Black and Cognac, where the leather is sustainably tanned using wastewater from olive processing.
2024 Skoda Kodiaq and Superb: PowertrainThe new-gen Kodiaq and Superb are expected to continue with their petrol and diesel engine options. Skoda offers the current models with the 1.5-litre petrol, 2.0-litre petrol, and 2.0-litre diesel choices. The 2024 Superb also comes with a 1.4-litre TSI iV plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version, which was recently upgraded for 2023). On the other hand, the 2024 Kodiaq will likely to come powered by a PHEV version for the first time.
