Skoda Slavia garners over 10,000 bookings within a month of launch
The Skoda Slavia has become another success for the Czech brand with the sedan garnering over 10,000 bookings. The Slavia reached this milestone in under a month of it going on sale on February 28. The Slavia's success, together with the steady demand for the Kushaq has also allowed Skoda India to have its most successful sales month in the country in March 2022 with 5,608 cars sold.
The Skoda Slavia is mechanically very similar to the Kushaq, based on the heavily localized MQB-A0-IN architecture. Consequently, the familiar 1.0-litre turbo-petrol with 115PS and 175 Nm is the base engine option pairing with a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic. The 1.5-litre TSI with cylinder deactivation is also available with a six-speed manual and seven-speed DCT with the top Style variant.
Adding to the standard ESC, the Slavia also gets tyre-pressure monitoring on all variants. Another new addition is that of a hill-hold function on higher-spec versions. Up to six airbags, electronic differential lock, multi-collision braking, auto headlamps and wipers and rear parking cameras are other safety highlights.
