Spec comparison: 2024 BYD Atto 3 vs MG ZS EV
Chinese automaker BYD (Build Your Dreams) launched the updated Atto 3 in India a couple of days ago. The headline change in the electric SUV is its new affordable variants, which have been priced from Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom) - Rs 9 lakh cheaper than the previous model. As a result, the MG ZS EV has become the closest rival to the 2024 BYD Atto 3. And here we are going to find out how Atto3 stack up against ZS EV.
In terms of proportions, the Atto 3 is longer and wider than the ZS EV, however, the ZS EV is the tallest between the two. Also, it has a larger luggage carrying capacity of 470 litres compared to 440 litres of the Atto 3.

While the ZS EV offers a single battery pack across the variants, the 2024 Atto 3 comes with a choice of two battery packs. In fact, the latter also has a better claimed range than the ZS EV. The ZS EV makes 26.75PS more power compared to 150PS of the Atto 3, but it is the other way around when it comes to torque figures. Not to mention, the BYD promises quicker zero to 100kmph sprint times than its rival.

Although BYD has slashed price of the EV, it continues with ADAS, vehicle-to-load (V2L) function, a panoramic sunroof, powered boot opening with one touch open/close, powered and headted ORVMs, 12.8-inch touchscreen and rotatable infotainment system, five-inch all-digital instrument cluster, wireless charging pad, 360deg camera, electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation, up to eight-speaker sound system, four windows one-touch up and down, electronic parking brake with auto hold, multiple airbags, ambient lighting, TPMS, ESP, TCS, hill descent control, USB Type-C and Type-A ports, and CN95/PM2.5 air filter, among others.
The ZS EV also comes with a host of features, starting with Level 2 autonomy, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, powered driver's seat, panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake with auto hold, three driving modes, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, five USB ports, powered and heated ORVM, six speakers, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, PM2.5 filter, Bluetooth-enabled digital key, six airbags, 360deg camera, ESP, hill hold control, hill descent control, TPMS, and connected car tech.
2024 BYD Atto 3 vs MG ZS EV: Prices
Although the new prices of the 2024 Atto 3 look compelling, its top-spec variant still costs Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the ZS EV tops out at Rs 25.44 lakh (ex-showroom). The ZS EV also has the lowest starting price of Rs 18.98 lakh (ex-showroom) compared to Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom) of the Atto 3.
