Spec comparison: Tata Curvv EV vs MG ZS EV vs Mahindra XUV400 vs Tata Nexon EV

Tata has just launched the all-new Curvv EV and the new Coupe SUV will directly the MG ZS EV in the Indian market. Now the new will also face off against the Mahindra XUV400 as the 2 cars aren't priced that far apart. This also means that the Curvv EV will also have to fend off competition from its younger sibling, the Nexon EV. Let's take a look at how these 4 EVs face each other off on paper.

Tata Curvv EV vs MG ZS EV vs Mahindra XUV400 vs Tata Nexon EV: Powertrain

The Tata Curvv EV comes with 45kWh and 55kWh battery pack options. The 45kWh battery pack has a 502 km (ARAI) range and the bigger 55kWh battery pack has a range of 585 kilometres (ARAI). Both variants have front-mounted electric motors but the smaller battery pack produces 150PS while the larger one makes 167PS. Both variants produce the same 215Nm of torque.

The MG ZS EV comes with a 50.3kWh battery pack paired with the most powerful electric motor among the three rivals that delivers 177PS and 280Nm of torque. That said, it gives out an ARAI range of 461km.

The EC Pro gets a 34.5kWh battery, while the EL Pro benefits from a 39.4kWh unit. According to the MIDC cycle, the former returns a claimed range of 375km, whereas the latter has a claimed range of 456km. The electric motor paired with both battery packs produces the same 150PS and 310Nm of torque.

The Nexon EV facelift comes powered by two battery packs: 30kWh and 40.5kWh, offering a range of 325km and 465km, respectively. The mid-range version features a second-gen electric motor generating 129PS and 215Nm of torque, while the long-range version produces 145PS and 215Nm of torque.

The Curvv EVs feature list includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a 320W 9-speaker JBL sound system, start-stop button, an electrically adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, an electronic parking brake, a panoramic sunroof, and a motorized tailgate are among the additional amenities. Six airbags (as standard equipment), ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, an automated parking brake with hold, and, most crucially, Level-2 ADAS are all part of the safety kit.

The MG ZS EV facelift comes equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, drive modes, electric parking brake, air purifier, rear AC vents, a six-way electrically-adjustable driver seat, and wireless charging. Also on offer will be 75 connected car features.

The XUV400 gets a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by Adrenox, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, two USB charging sockets, push start/stop switch, OTA updates, rear air-con vents, OCPI (Open Charge Point Interface) hub integration, in-built Amazon Alexa assistant, auto-dimming IRVM, cruise control, a wireless charging pad, OTA updates, six airbags, and fog lights. With the introduction of Adrenox, the XUV400 Pro offers over 55 connected car features. Apart from that, it continues with a sunroof, ESC, TPMS, dual-zone temperature control, four disc brakes, powered ORVMs with auto-fold function, auto headlamps and wipers, and more.

Tata has given a fresh look to the cabin of the Nexon EV facelift along with numerous new features, such as all-LED lighting, full-length light bars at both ends, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with OTT app and games support, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, a nine-speaker JBL sound system, "Hey Tata" voice assistant (compatible with Alexa, Google, and Siri), telematics, front parking sensors, height-adjustable co-passenger seat, upgraded ZConnect app, paddle shifters for regenerative braking, blind-spot view monitor, 45W USB Type-C port, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Tata Curvv EV vs MG ZS EV vs Mahindra XUV400 vs Tata Nexon EV: Price

The Tata Curvv EV is priced from Rs 17.49 lakh to Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). In contrast, its younger sibling, the Nexon EV is priced from Rs 14.49 lakh - Rs 19.49 lakh, the Mahindra XUV400 from Rs 14.49 lakh - Rs 19.49 lakh and the MG ZS EV from Rs 18.98 lakh - Rs 25.44 (ex-showroom) lakh.
