Specifications comparison: 2021 Audi A4 vs Mercedes-Benz C Class vs BMW 3 Series vs Jaguar XE
Audi India has launched its latest, the 2021 A4 sedan, prices of which start at Rs. 42,34 lakh and extend up to Rs 46.67 lakh, ex-showroom for the top-spec Technology variant. 2021 Audi A4Powering the 2021 Audi A4 is a 40TFSI 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that makes 190PS of power and 320Nm of torque. All that power is sent to the front wheels using a new 7-speed DCT unit. The German car manufacturer claims that the A4 can touch 100kmph from standstill in 7.3s and has a maximum speed of 241kmph.
Mercedes Benz C-ClassThe staunch rival of the 2021 Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C Class is available between Rs 41.31 lakh to Rs. 48.80 lakh, ex-showroom. Also, if you wish to splurge more, there's the C 300d AMG line at Rs. 51.76 lakh that comes with all the AMG goodies. However, if you want the more spirited version, there's the Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coup at Rs. 76.50 lakh whereas the top-spec C 63 is positioned at Rs 1.33 crore.
Under the hood, the C-Class is offered with a choice of three powertrains, one petrol and two diesel. Powering the petrol variants is a 1991cc 4-cylinder motor that makes 203PS of power between 5,800 to 6,100 rpm. The 1,950cc diesel is offered in two states of tune, 194PS and 245Ps. Mercedes claims that the 245PS version takes 5.9s to touch 100kmph whereas the 194PS does the same in 6.9s. The petrol model touches 100kmph from naught in 7.7s. The top-speed numbers of the C-Class varies between 239kmph to 250kmph.
Jaguar XEThe Brit offering, Jaguar XE is offered in a petrol guise only with a 1,997cc engine that makes 250PS of power at 5,500rpm and generates a torque output of 365Nm at 1,500 to 4,000rpm. The Jaguar XE is available in two trims, the S priced at Rs. 46.63 lakh and SE at Rs. 48.50 lakh, both prices ex-showroom.
BMW 3 Series
The BMW 3 Series has been positioned between Rs 42.30 lakh and Rs. 49.30 lakh, ex-showroom. The 330i's 2-litre petrol engine makes 258PS at 5,000rpm and generates 400Nm between 1,550rpm to 4,400rpm. BMW claims the sedan in its petrol guise takes 5.8s to reach 100kmph. On the other hand, the 2-litre diesel churns out 190PS at 4,000rpm and 400Nm at 1,750-2,500rpm, which as per BMW, takes 6.8s to touch 100kmph.
Volvo S60
