Spied: Bajaj CS400 caught testing in India again
It's been over two years since Bajaj unveiled the CS400 motorcycle at the 2014 Auto Expo. The motorcycle looked production ready and quite understandably got enthusiasts excited. However, since then there has been no reliable information pertaining to when the Bajaj CS400 would reach showrooms. Of late, spy images showing the CS400 undergoing tests in India are regularly making their way online. It was recently snapped testing last month.
The CS stands for Cruising Sports and its engine is based on the KTM 390 Duke's 373cc liquid-cooled mill. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The overall styling borrows a few elements from the Ducati Diavel. Although the body panels are camouflaged, the test mule looks very similar to the concept version shown at the 2014 Auto Expo. The key difference is that unlike the concept version, the test mule features a right side up forks at the front and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear.
In terms of features, it gets an all-digital instrument cluster, a digital display on the tank which shows the speed and gear and a tail lamp with two LED strips below it which extends to a plastic mudguard with LED indicators. It will also get disc brakes at the front and rear with dual-channel ABS. The Bajaj CS400 is expected to launch around the festive season this year.
