Spied: Hyundai Grand i10 facelift spotted testing in India
Spy images of the upcoming Hyundai Grand i10 facelift have surfaced on the Internet recently. The car was spotted on its usual test run, with the front and rear ends of the car camouflaged. This suggests a revised front end, with possibly new bumpers, airdam, fog lamps and hood while the rear hatch may get a few tweaks to refresh the design.
The new alloys are clearly visible and feature the diamond cut design that's usually seen in all top-spec variants of most Hyundai cars.
Also, notice the turn indicators on the fender, unlike the current Grand i10 with ORVM-mounted indicators. The side profile appears exactly like the current car. Expect the Hyundai Xcent to get a similar treatment in a few months time.
The Hyundai Grand i10 has been well received in the small car market. The car's fluidic styling, plethora of features and pricing have seen it stand tall in the sea of small cars. Launched back in 2013, the car came with rear AC vents, auto-folding ORVMs, cooled glovebox and a stereo system with 1GB of internal memory. These were features unheard of in the segment at that time.
The facelifted Grand i10 is expected to get the same set of engines âÂ" 1.2-litre Kappa 2 petrol and the 1.1-litre U2 CRDi diesel. Both engines are mated to 5-speed manual transmission. In addition, the petrol motor comes with an automatic transmission as an option. Hyundai dealers have also recently started offering CNG kits for both the Xcent and the Grand i10. These kits make the car expensive by around Rs 60,000 overall, but the dealers will endorse the kits on the RC books.
The Hyundai Grand i10 competes with the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Ford Figo. While the Figo is relatively new, the Swift is set to be replaced with the next-generation Swift. Read all about that car here.
