Tata Curvv petrol & diesel engine options leaked

It has not been a few days since the leaked details news of the Tata Curvv EV, and now fresh details about its petrol and diesel versions have surfaced on the internet. Media reports indicate the crossover coupe will be available in three engine options.

Tata Curvv: Petrol & diesel engine options

At the 2023 Auto Expo, Tata Motors showcased two new TGDi engines: a 1.2-litre three-cylinder unit 125PS and 225Nm of torque and 1.5-litre four-cylinder motor with 170PS and 280Nm. Both engines can run on E20 fuel and mated to a new dual-clutch automatic transmission, which the brand introduced with the facelifted Nexon.

It is said that not only will the new Curvv get the 1.2-litre, inline three-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine generating 120PS and 170Nm of torque and 1.5-litre, inline four-cylinder diesel motor that makes 115PS and 260Nm, but also the new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged TGDi petrol with 125PS and 225Nm. Transmission options are likely to include a six-speed manual, a torque-convertor automatic, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Tata Curvv: Interior & features

According to recent leaks, the upcoming Tata crossover coupe will borrow its features from the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari. Whereas, the interior layout will be similar to that of the Nexon, including the steering wheel, Range Rover-style gear selector, and touch capacitive panel for air-con.

More importantly, the Curvv will come equipped with a panoramic sunroof with mood lighting, a 10.25-inch all-digital instrument cluster with on-screen navigation, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Arcade.EV and third-party app compatibility, nine-speaker JBL sound system, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless charging pad.

Other features may include LED headlights and taillights with welcome and goodbye animations, 360deg camera, 45W USB Type-C socket, electronic parking brake with auto hold, iRA 2.0 connected car tech, puddle lamps, blind spot monitor, drive modes, parking sensors at the front and rear, four-disc brakes, six airbags, Level 2 autonomy with driver drowsiness detection, brake assist, electronic stability programme, telematics, ISOFIX anchor points, automatic headlamps with follow-me-home, and rain sensing wipers. Like the Nexon EV, the Curvv EV could benefit from vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) features.

Tata Curvv EV: Price

The price range of the Curvv EV may start around Rs 16-18 lakh and go up to Rs 23-25 lakh. Upon launch, it will take on the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
