Tata Hexa to be launched in India on January 18, 2017
Scheduled to be launched sometime this year, as it is evident, the launch date of the Tata Hexa has now been pushed to January 2017. We now have exclusive information that the Hexa MPV will be launched on January 18, 2017, in Mumbai.
The Tata Hexa will be offered in six variants and nine trims. There are 6- as well as 7-seater configurations for the Tata Hexa. Tata will have the XT, XTA and XT 4x4 variants with the 6-seat option while the 7-seater will be available with the XE, XM and XMA.
5/6-speed manual and automatic transmission options will also be on the platter when it comes to choosing the powertrains for the Tata Hexa. A 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine from the Safari Varicor will do duty under the hood of the Tata Hexa in two different states of tune  - 150PS/320Nm and 156PS/400Nm. The base XE will be available exclusively with the 150PS engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the manual variants will come with an option of Tata's new Super Drive mode 4x4, the automatic will get the rear-wheel drive configuration only.
The 2017 Tata Hexa looks a tad like its bigger brothers from the Range Rover stables. This includes the projector headlamps, DRLs and even the stance. Inside, the MPV looks even more modern with the use of piano black theme as well as chrome, a leather-wrapped dashboard, 10-speaker JBL touchscreen infotainment system and a cooled glovebox. There are lots of storage space as well.
Our first drive shows that the Hexa has one of the best ride qualities in the segment, and it isn't half a bad handling car as well. It remains to be seen how the public will embrace what is likely an almost Rs 18 lakh Tata MPV.
