Tata Motors to introduce EV charge point aggregator service on 7 Aug
As the number of electric vehicles (EVs) are growing in India, carmakers and charging services providers setting up new charging points. In one such move, Tata Motors, in line with the upcoming launch of its new Curvv EV, has announced that it will be introducing a new charge point aggregator service for its EV customers on 7 August, the same when it will release the prices for the electric crossover coupe.
The carmaker has announced the plan on its social media handles, revealing that it will have the highest integration level of charging station across the country, comprising over 15 charging point operators (CPOs). In a statement, Tata Motors said that while charging network has grown to over 13,000 charging points nationwide, EV owners still face challenges finding availability and high quality chargers, resulting anxiety in planning long trips. Not only will this be useful for the prospective EV customers of the brand, but will also be a benefit for the existing owners.
The charge point aggregator feature will be incorporated into the Tata Motors Connected Car app, offering charge points across India that consists over 15 CPOs, real-time charger status or availability, directions to charger locations, and ratings system of these charge points. The most helpful feature of this service will the integration with Tata EV data to enable trip planning based on vehicle's range and charger usage data.
