Tata Nexon facelift spied testing again; shows new alloy wheels

The Tata Nexon facelift has been spotted testing on multiple occasions. While the previous batch of spy shots had revealed- several fresh details, the recently spied test mule also offers a glimpse of the new alloy wheels of the upcoming Nexon facelift.

Tata Nexon facelift: New details

The most recent spy pictures reveal the new alloy wheel design of the Nexon facelift. Unlike the on-sale Nexon, the Nexon facelift's new alloy wheels bear a star-shaped design. Above all, the new set of alloy wheels appear a production-spec unit. However, it is hard to determine whether they will be aerodynamically optimised. The current model comes with 16-inch wheels and the upcoming one could also continue to offer the same size.

Tata Nexon facelift: Design

As seen in some of the previous spy pictures, the Nexon facelift will feature a completely overhauled exterior, also drawing inspiration from the Curvv concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. It will get a new face with a full-length LED light bar, LED headlights, redesigned radiator grille design, new front bumper, and probably LED fog lamps. At the back, the SUV is likely to come with sharper and re-profiled LED taillamps, a light strip running across its width, and a new rear bumper.

Tata Nexon facelift: Interior

If the spy shots are to go by, the most significant changes on the inside will come in the form of a new Curvv-inspired two-spoke and flat-bottomed steering wheel, a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new fully digital instrument cluster, a new gear selector, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Tata may also offer new upholstery and a few additional features.

Tata Nexon facelift: Powertrain

The Nexon facelift is likely to get Tata's new 1.2-litre, inline three-cylinder, turbocharged TGDi petrol engine producing 125PS at 5,000rpm and 225Nm of torque 1,700rpm and 3,500rpm. The on-sale model makes 120PS and 170Nm.

While a six-speed manual gearbox will be available as standard, a new dual-clutch automatic transmission could be offered as an option instead of the current six-speed automatic unit.

We expect the Nexon facelift to continue with the same 1.5-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine that develops 115PS and 260Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Notably, Tata has updated both petrol and diesel units of the Nexon to comply with the new BS6 phase-2 emission norms.

Tata Nexon facelift: Price

With new updates and additional features, the Nexon facelift is likely to command a higher premium over the current model. The prices could start from Rs 8-8.50 lakh and go up to Rs 15-16 lakh. In comparison, the prices of the on-sale Nexon start at Rs 7.80 lakh and go up to Rs 14.50 lakh (both ex-showroom).
