Tata Nexon iCNG: Variants explained

The Nexon iCNG was introduced by Tata Motors, with a starting price of Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). With the release of the CNG model, the Nexon becomes the first vehicle in India to be available with all four types of powertrains: petrol, diesel, electric, and now CNG.

Powering the Nexon iCNG is the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is mated to a 6-peed manual transmission. While Tata has skipped out on offering this with an AMT which is available on the Tiago and Tigor, the brand claims that this is the first ever CNG vehicle to utilise a turbo petrol engine. This powertrain is capable of a max output of 100PS and 170Nm of torque.
