Tata Punch EV spotted testing once again
The Tata Punch EV has been sighted testing yet again, this time we get a much clear sight of what the car will look like. While it looks mostly similar to its ICE twin, there might be a few noticeable new features to tell the two vehicles apart once the car is officially revealed.
The Tata Punch EV receives a slightly reprofiled LED DRL up front, which is likely to be the full-width version seen on the Curvv. The headlight units underneath it appear to have shifted somewhat upwards as well. It also included mirrors from the 2023 Harrier as well as housing for the 360-degree camera system.
According to the spy images, the alloy wheels on the Punch EV will be different from those on the ICE-powered Punch. The new electric Punch test mules will have a five-spoke design, whereas prior ones had the same design as the ICE punch.
The Tata Punch EV will sit between the Tigor EV and the Nexon EV in the company's EV portfolio and, as previously suggested, it might receive two options: Standard and Long Range. Punch Electric's range might be approximately 300 kilometres. Tiago EV, for example, is offered in two variants, one with a range of 250 km and the other with a range of 315 km.
Tata Punch EV: Interior and Features
From previous interior sightings, we know that there is the presence of a rotary dial on the inside indicating that the EV may have an electronic parking brake. Nexon EV Max already includes this capability. The electronic parking brake operates automatically and may also be manually activated and disengaged. The electric model is pictured with a floating 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is most likely from Harman and will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. ICE Punch-like features include a 7-inch TFT instrument display, automatic temperature control, a flat bottom steering wheel, and leather.
Punch Electric's safety features will be much the same as those of its ICE sister. A reverse parking camera, front fog lamps with cornering function, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, ABS and EBD with brake sway control, and rear defogger are among the essential safety features available with Punch.
The Tata Punch EV is likely to cost between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 16 lakh and will go up against the Citroen eC3.
