Tata Tiago EV achieves 10,000 units deliveries milestone
Tata Motors has achieved a milestone of delivering 10,000 units Tiago EV in less than four months of its launch. It was also the fastest booked EV in India, as it received 10,000 bookings within 24 hours and 20,000 bookings by the end of 2022. Meanwhile, the Tiago EV is available in six variants: XE, XT mid range, XT long range, XZ+, XZ+ Tech Lux, XZ+ (7.2kW charger), and XZ+ Tech Lux (7.2kW charger).
Tata Tiago EV: Powertrain
The Tiago EV comes powered by two battery packs: 19.2kWh and 24kWh, with a claimed range of 250km and 315km, respectively. Electric motor paired with the former generates 61PS and 110Nm of torque, while with the latter it produces 75PS and 114Nm. With this, the electric hatchback can achieve 0-100kmph in 5.7 seconds with the 24kWh battery pack and 6.2 seconds with the 19.2kWh.
Tata Tiago EV: Charging
The EV gets either a 3.3kW or 7.2kW home wall box charger. Using a 15A plug point, Tiago EV takes 6.9 hours for medium-range variant and 8.7 hours for long range variant to charge from 10 to 100 per cent. With a 3.3kW wall box charger, the medium-range and long-range versions can be charged from 10 to 100 per cent in 5.1 hours and 6.4 hours, respectively. Whereas, a 7.2kW charger can charge the medium-range version in 2.6 hours, while the long-range version takes 3.6 hours to complete 10 to 100 per cent. It also supports DC charging with a 0-80 per cent charging in a claimed 57 minutes. The DC charger also claims to add 110km range in 30 minutes of charging.
Tata Tiago EV: Features
Tata has given the Tiago EV a wide range of features, such as a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, re-gen modes (0, 1, 2, and 3), ZConnect connected car features smartwatch connectivity, an eight-speaker sound system, leatherette upholstery for the seats, a reverse parking camera and senros, TPMS, a cooled glove box, and powered boot opening. Further, the Tiago EV gets two driving modes: City and Sport.
Tata Tiago EV: Prices and Rivals
The prices of Tiago EV start at Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 12.04 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes against the likes of the Citroen eC3 and MG Comet EV.
