Tesla Model 3 facelift picture leaked on the internet
Tesla Model 3 has been one of the most successful models for the brand. It entered the list of global top 10 best-selling cars raking a few years ago. Tesla also claimed that it became the highest-selling sedan in the world, beating the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3 Series. Having said that, the Model 3 has been a long due for a mid-cycle update and recently leaked pictures of what appears to be the supposedly Tesla Model 3 facelift suggest that the electric vehicle (EV) might receive a design update soon.
Tesla Model 3 facelift: Design
Since its launch in 2017, the Model 3 has not received any significant styling updates. While most carmakers update their vehicles in terms of design and interior to keep them up-to-the-minute, the Model 3 has carried almost the same design language for years. However, a picture on Reddit - a social news website and forum - by a user shows a black car that is reportedly a facelifted Tesla Model 3.
If the leaked picture is to go by, the updated Model 3 features several new bits, such as headlamps with integrated daytime running lights and a fresh set of alloy wheels. More importantly, it does not have the whale's face-shaped front bumper. Notably, it is reminiscent of the Tesla Roadster prototype. The catch here is that the car misses out on a Tesla logo.
Tesla Model 3 facelift: Interior
As a part of the rumoured mid-life facelift, the Tesla Model 3 could get a fresh interior. The on-sale model bears a minimalistic cabin appearance with a large 15-inch touchscreen, a steering wheel, and a pair of wireless charging pads compared to other EVs' conventional interior setups.
Tesla Model 3 facelift: Powertrain
The Tesla Model 3 may get major updates to its powertrain in the form of a bigger battery pack, more efficient motors, and even an extended range. Currently, it is available with standard and long-range battery pack options across the rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and performance versions in some international markets. The rear-wheel drive trim supports 170kW fast charging, while the all-wheel drive variant and performance trims support 250kW fast charging.
