The all-new Nissan Patrol is what we've been waiting for
Nissan has finally unveiled the seventh generation of the Nissan Patrol and has waved goodbye to the ageing previous-gen car that has been on sale for well over a decade. Set to go up against the new-age Toyota Land Cruiser, the new Patrol loses 2 cylinders but on the looks of it, brings in a sense of sophistication and business look that fans have been asking for forever.
The 2025 Nissan Patrol has a modern look that makes it stand out on the road and just like its predecessor, it seems to be gunning for the timeless appearance. The all-new Patrol has striking C-shaped headlamps with distinctive LED lighting signatures that accentuate the vehicle's power and competence across any terrain. These elements go well with a sizable new grille and an intimidating front bumper.
A pair of 22-inch alloy wheels that double as high ground clearance complete the seventh-generation Patrol's look. Moving on to the back, Nissan added a unique LED light bar to the tailgate, which combines with the fashionable LED taillights to give the SUV a dynamic and athletic look.
Nissan Patrol: Powertrain
The Patrol also dropped the V8 option and instead now gets a choice of a new 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 or a 3.8-litre naturally aspirated V6. The latter produces 316PS and 386Nm of torque while the former produces a whole of 425PS and 700Nm. Power is sent to a brand-new, 9-speed automatic gearbox, which is mated to a four-wheel drive system that has a transfer mode interlock mechanism. Six different drive modes will be available to drivers: standard, sand, rock, mud/rut, eco, and sport.
The all-new Patrol features an adaptive air suspension system available as standard - allowing for adjustable ride height, on-road cruising and off-road performance. In addition, Nissan also claims it has improved aerodynamic efficiency, which also facilitates easy passenger entry and exit, as well as loading and unloading of gear.
Nissan Patrol: Interior & Features
Upgrades on the inside aren't minor either. Passengers will find themselves in a roomy, luxurious, and cozy cabin. Quilted leather seats, a 64-color ambient lighting system, power-adjustable chairs with an eight-way adjustability and massage function, and traditional Japanese woodcraft known as "Kumiko" are all included.
Regarding screens, the newly designed Nissan Patrol has a 28.6-inch horizontal monolith display that combines two 14.3-inch panels to offer a full view of entertainment, navigation, and vehicle information. Optional dual 12.8-inch displays that provide entertainment on-the-go and HDMI and USB connections are now available for rear-seat passengers. Google Built-in, which combines entertainment, security, and navigation into a single platform, completes the digital experience.
Other features include a 12-speaker Klipsch Premium Audio system, Biometric Cooling technology, a panoramic sunroof, 7 airbags and Nissan's ProPILOT technology.
