Toyota India extends battery warranty on hybrid models
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced the extension of the battery warranty for its Self-charging Hybrid Electric Cars (SHEVs) in India, as part of its commitment to boost the use of electrified vehicles. The warranty will be extended to eight years or 160,000 km, up from three years or 100,000 km previously.
Toyota launched the 'Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050' in October 2015, which consists of six environmental challenges, in keeping with their 'Respect for the Planet' concept. This also includes the goal to achieve lifecycle zero carbon (CO2) emission from all new vehicles and manufacturing activities.Â
Toyota Kirloskar Motors has continued to endeavour and develop novel schemes and offers to increase customer happiness based on that experience. TKM's new hybrid electric vehicle battery guarantee, which runs until 2021, is the industry's longest and is accessible to all Toyota SHEV owners.
They were also the first manufacturer to offer hybrid electric vehicles to the Indian market, with models like the Prius and Camry. The Toyota Camry and Vellfire have gained customer faith and trust in the brand, encapsulating Toyota's class-defining self-charging hybrid electric technology, comfort, refinement, and sustainability, paving the path for future acceptance of other electrified technologies.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor intends to contribute to mass electrification through "made in India" not just for Indian markets but also for global markets. Toyota is certain that all electrified vehicle technologies are required to establish a thriving domestic EV manufacturing base, accelerating the adoption of cleaner and more efficient mobility.
