Toyota Land Cruiser to make its debut in India in August
Following the recent debut of the Toyota Hilux, Toyota now appears to be preparing to launch the next model of the Land Cruiser in India. According to reports, the SUV might arrive in the United States in August of this year.
After being globally unveiled last year, Toyota dealers are said to have been taking bookings for the Land Cruiser LC300 since February 2022. According to the latest sources, reservations have been suspended due to a chip scarcity.
The new GA-F platform underpins the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300, which saves 200kgs over the previous model. The new chassis is more rigid and hosts the updated suspension components benefiting the offroad performance. The E-KDSS (Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System) is said to be the first in the world is exclusive to the LC300 and it can disengage the anti-roll bars for better wheel articulation whilst offroading.
The 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol churns out 415PS and 650 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel dishes out 309PS and 700 Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a newly-developed Direct Shift 10-speed AT.
The side profile of the new Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 features a sleek shoulder line and curved A and D pillars from the edges. The wheel arches are sculpted to reinforce the SUV quotient and the GR Sport model gets black cladding around. The rear profile is more wholesome with large LED taillights and Land Cruiser badging spread out. In a nutshell, the all-new LC300 is more of an evolution than a revolution.
2021 Land Cruiser features a host of tech and makes the daily routine easier. The optional 12.3-inch infotainment system also incorporates an offroad under view camera - similar to what we have seen with flagship Land Rover models. Along with that, it also offers Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a surround-view camera and more. The LC300 also boasts luxury features like wireless charging, electric tailgate, heads-up display, electrically adjustable steering wheel, fingerprint authentication system etc.
The new Toyota Land Cruiser is expected to make its way to the Indian shores this year before the Lexus LX 600.
