Triumph Scrambler 400X launched in India at Rs 2.63 lakh

Triumph has officially launched the Scrambler 400X in India with a price tag of Rs 2,62,996 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new offering from Triumph brings subtle changes compared to the Speed 400, a model that has already garnered significant attention in the Indian market. The Speed 400 recorded over 10,000 reservations within just 10 days of bookings opening on June 30, 2023. The Scrambler 400X, priced at Rs 2,62,996, comes in slightly higher than the Speed 400, which is priced at Rs 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom), with a difference of Rs 29,996.

Triumph Scrambler 400X and Speed 400: Highlights

The Scrambler 400X sets itself apart with a scrambler-inspired oval panel, a split-seat setup, a new exhaust, and hand guards. Buyers can choose from three paint schemes: Matt Khaki Green with Fusion White, Carnival Red with Phantom Black, and Phantom Black with Silver Ice. It has a seat height of 835mm, compared to the 790mm seat height of the Speed 400. The Scrambler 400X also weighs slightly more at 185kg, while the Speed 400 comes in at 176kg.

Triumph Scrambler 400X and Speed 400: Features and Specifications

Triumph has equipped the Scrambler 400X with several features and electronic aids, including all-LED lighting, ride-by-wire, dual-channel ABS, traction control, a slip and assist clutch, and a semi-digital instrument cluster with an analogue speedometer and an LCD screen. The 400X features different tires from the Speed 400, with 100/90-19 section front and 140/80-17 section rear tires. Suspension components include 43mm USD front forks with 150mm travel and a rear monoshock with 150mm travel. Braking duties are handled by a 320mm fixed single disc with a four-piston radial caliper at the front and a 230mm fixed single disc with a ByBre single-piston floating caliper at the rear.

Triumph Scrambler 400X: Powertrain

The Scrambler 400X is powered by the same 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine as the Speed 400, generating 40PS at 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Triumph Scrambler 400X: Rivals

The Scrambler 400X will compete with rivals like the Royal Enfield Scram 411 and the 2023 Yezdi Scrambler in the Indian market.
