Triumph Tiger 900 online bookings commence in India, launch in June 2020
Triumph Motorcycles has officially commenced online bookings for its upcoming Adventure bike offering, the Tiger 900. The company has set a dedicated website wherein interested customers can make an online booking with a token amount of Rs 50,000 across any of the dealerships in the country. Triumph will launch the Rally Pro first, and the GT and the Rally variants will be added to the range at a later stage. Here's how much we expect Triumph Motorcycles India to price the Tiger 900 range in the country.
Powering the Tiger 900 is a new 888cc 12-valve, liquid-cooled, in-line, 3-cylinder engine that makes a peak power of 95.2PS and a peak torque of 87Nm. Triumph says that the power output is 9 percent more than the previous generation in the mid-range, while the torque output is 10 percent more than the previous generation. The new engine features a new crankshaft that improves character and sound, a new balancer to manage the new firing order, and new camshafts, pistons and con-rods. The highlight of the new design of the Tiger 900's chassis is the lightweight construction. The new model is 5kg lighter than the previous one, which has been achieved with a new lightweight modular chassis comprising of a steel trellis frame with a bolt-on aluminium rear subframe and bolt-on hangers, new lighter weight engine and high specification suspension and brakes. Read our detailed first ride review of Triumph Tiger 900 here.Â
"While the idea was to launch the Tiger 900 in May, but it will now come only in June. Looking at the anticipation and response from the customers we decided to open the pre-bookings, so as to be able to service the first set of customers. With the opening of pre-bookings today, we look forward to welcoming more customers in the Triumph family; customers can now book the world's longest-running adventure motorcycle before it hits the Indian shores either online or by visiting their nearest Triumph dealership." commented, Shoeb Farooq, Business Head - Triumph Motorcycles India
