Triumph to launch four new motorcycles in 2018
Triumph recently completed four years in India, and of the several motorcycles it showcased internationally last year, the British manufacturer will launch at least four new products in 2018. Interestingly, the motorcycles belong to two of the segments Indian buyers love â€" cruisers and adventure tourers. Here's all you need to know!
Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster
The newest member of the Bonneville family, the Bonneville Speedmaster is expected to be Triumph's first launch in 2018. The Bonneville Speedmaster is based on the Bobber that was launched in India last year and is powered by the same 1200cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that powers the Bobber and Thruxton. Outputs stand at 77PS and 106Nm. It gets a comprehensive electronics suite including traction and cruise control, riding modes and ABS. Expect it to cost around Rs 11 lakh.
Triumph Bobber Black
The Bobber Black is a variant of the Bobber, the motorcycle Triumph re-entered the cruiser space with in 2017. It uses the same 1200cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin cylinder engine producing 77PS and 106Nm. As compared to the standard Bobber it gets dual front discs, an LED headlight with LED DRLs, fatter forks and a matte black paint finish. It will be launched mid-2018 and will be priced around the 11 lakh rupee mark.
Triumph Tiger 800
The smaller Tiger received comprehensive updates last year and was also showcased at the 2017 EICMA. Updates include more torque and refinement from the triple cylinder engine, revised suspension, an updated electronics suite and a revised digital console. Should be launched around June this year and will cost slightly more.
Triumph Tiger 1200
The new for 2018 Tiger 1200 has dropped the Explorer suffix finally, and features a host of cosmetic and mechanical updates. Most importantly it has lost some weight thanks to the new, lighter swingarm. Triumph claims the triple cylinder engine is also smoother now. The semi-active suspension has been updated and the Tiger 1200 now also features the colourful, all-digital TFT display we first saw on the Street Triple RS. Triumph is expected to launch several variants this time around unlike last year, where it only launched the Tiger Explorer XCx. Pricing will begin from around Rs 19.50 lakh.
