TVS launches updated Apache RTR 160 4V; Special Edition variant
TVS Motor Company has definitely been on a roll over the last couple of weeks. The launch of the new Apache RR 310, the Raider 125, the Jupiter 125, and now this - an updated Apache RTR 160 4V. After launching the RTR 160 4V earlier this year with more power and less weight than the older model, the company has had yet another go at its naked 160cc streetbike. The RTR 160 4V now gets a new LED headlamp assembly with DRLs, three riding modes â€" Rain, Urban and Sport, a gear position indicator (on the LCD display) and a radial rear tyre.
TVS has also launched the Apache RTR 160 4V Special Edition motorcycle, which additionally features adjustable clutch and brake levers, a new seat pattern and that stellar-looking matte black colour with red alloy wheels. Altogether, there are four variants of the RTR 160 4V on sale now - rear drum, rear disc, rear disc with Bluetooth, and the Special Edition. The base, rear drum brake, variant does not get the radial rear tyre while the Special Edition comes with TVS' SmartXonnect bluetooth tech as standard.
Mechanically, the bike remains the same as before. And that's not a bad thing. The Apache RTR 160 4V continues to be powered by a 159.7cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled motor that produces 17.6PS and 14.7Nm. The bike is available in three colours options â€"Racing Red, Metallic Blue, and Knight Black.
